This summer has really been busy, and can I just say how much I love everything about summer days and nights!
I can not believe that I have not written in the blog since June and now we are at the end of July and almost every day I spent it at a golf course with Ashley. She picked up her golf clubs and was hooked, with a beautiful natural swing. Grandpa Keith is a golf fanatic and hoarder, in the nicest terms. His home is full of golf gear and artwork. I thought it was a lot of golf stuff before when my mom was around, but now that it is just him, it is a bachelor pad full of golf gear. And every time we visit my little "lady bug" is in golfers heaven. I hear about it the whole way home... (I am chuckling on the inside while I write this because I am sure my mom is having a kick out of this)

I have some amazing photos, slow motion videos and videos of her swinging the golf club. But honestly I have to say being a "Mom-Caddy" is the best thing I have ever done. It has been so fun, but very challenging. It is two hours on an open course, no cell phones where you are forced to be quiet, almost no talking, focused on each shot, and each hole the play starts over and you have a chance to reset the attitude. It is a game of "to think is to create" and maintaining a positive attitude can work in your best interest. It is not always about the most skilled player, anyone can go out and have a bad day on the golf course.
I have loved every minute of the time we have spent together, I am her biggest fan. She may not always like me. Sometimes she has called me by my first name, told me to shut-up and even walked most of the course as I followed in the cart. I have thrown extra balls out for bad attitudes to add extra practice and we have had our shares of bad balls and rough days on the course. But I would not change this time with her. Her dad may make many sacrifices so that she can be out playing golf, but that is exactly what we all want for her. So the entire family has pitched in to help, Joe's parents have been watching the little kids so I can be her "Mom-Caddy" and my dad Keith has given her access to the club so she can play in league, camp and her coach. We are beyond grateful and blessed for the opportunities she has to play. She is looking forward to playing in High School this year as a Sophomore and hopefully on the Junior PGA tour and Utah Junior League.
