Nothing is better than a summer thunderstorm, and kids jumping in puddles. Warmer weather, longer days, and best of all school is out and we are looking for fun activities. It feels like everyday there is a lot going on around me but sometimes I just need to stop and play!
Play with play dough that is.
I love making things, getting my hands dirty, making a little mess and the best place is in the kitchen with the kids. I love making a fresh batch of play dough. Everyone all ages likes to play with play dough and it is easy to clean up.
This is a recipe that I have been making for years. I have had this recipe since I was a kid and started making this on my own when I first started watching my niece Samantha, then when I had my daughter Ashley. So its a family favorite.
I love to make this during the holidays to give as gifts to all the little friends of the neighborhood, church, cousins and friends. I add silver glitter and a scent of peppermint or cinnamon usually make it in red or even blue.
The ideas are really endless to make fun affordable gifts for;

But most of all right now with having the two toddlers we are using play dough as a tool. I use it when I need to cook dinner and they sit up at the kitchen bar and play and we use it as a learning tool. Can I just say I love Pinterest (mom confession: I do, and I spend way to much time on this website pinning stuff I like and crafts I want but will never have time to do, lol) Some things I find very helpful and these have been and they are the play dough learning mat, and links I have found for them, because really cookie cutters and molding shapes and figures can only last so long.
Here are few I found;
Bug Fossils | A Play Dough Invitation - from PlainVanillaMom.com
Playdough Letter Mazes - from teach-me-mommy.com
Play Dough Activity Mats & Busy Bag - from Mother's Niche.com
Hope you enjoy, please post pictures and comments below. I would love to see you all having fun with your play dough creations.
I love play dough and the grown-up version, film. I also love bubbles. I bought Riley a bubble maker so I can play with it. Lol
ReplyDeleteI love it, glad to know we all have a little kid still left in all of us.
